History Of AOD
Academy Of Dance is a fourth generation dance studio, established in 1985, located in Palestine, Texas and has students from all over Central Texas. Dance classes are offered in ballet, pointe, tap, hip hop, lyrical/contemporary, turns and leaps, as well as an award winning competition team. We have classes for any level dancer ranging from ages 2.5 to 18 years old. Our dance family here at AOD is comprised of our magical Lil Stars through our highly competitive dance team. The studio is a home away from home for our dancers where they spend time training, building self-confidence and nurturing life-long friendships.
Dancers enjoy classes in all styles that push them to be the best they can be. For our younger dancers the instructors here at Academy Of Dance are dedicated to making sure that your Lil Star steps into a magical experience where they learn basics while falling in love with dance. For our older dancers, the teachers focus on technique geared toward their goals. Whether it be becoming a Drill Team Officer, Tremaine Assistant, dancing in college, or just loving dance and getting to escape everyday life, our instructors are trained to train and guide them in the correct direction.
We have several different programs at Academy Of Dance depending on your age, and how much dance you have had in the past. We would love to help guide you into the right class.
What Does Our Studio Offer?
We accept ages 2 and up for classes in tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop, lyrical and contemporary. Weekly classes are offered August through May, as well as the opportunity to audition for our dance company and perform in our yearly recital.
Academy of Dance offers the best training and most qualified teachers. We realize that each dancer has different strengths and aspirations, and not everyone wants to become a professional dancer. But it is our goal to give each student the best dance training possible so that you, the parent, are getting the most for your money and your child is gaining the physical abilities and knowledge required to dance. All our teachers are educated in ballet terminology, have attended dance conventions, and have trained in all forms of dance for many years.
Through hard work and dedication, many of our students have gone on to study dance in college, dance professionally, and teach dance across the nation.
Dance Company & Awards
Where the passion for dance begins with technique.
At Academy of Dance we offer a highly competitive competition team. It is comprised of dedicated students who want to take their dancing to the next level, have a love for dance, a spirit of a performer, and a desire to be pushed. The Company is composed of dancers ranging in ages from 6-18. The company takes extra classes year round as well as performs throughout the area and competes in at least one competition per year.
AOD offers auditions yearly for dancer’s chance to become a part of our award winning competition team!
